Probably one of the biggest traits of a toxic manager is that they don’t respect their employees. Respect is a two-way street: you give respect and then you get it back. 2. Passive-aggressiveness with micromanaging – not a good combo

5. They don’t listen to you
Being able to have a free flow of communication among the team is crucial for the overall success of a company. When an individual cannot approach their managers to express their concerns or worries, they cannot feel comfortable in their own office. Their concerns are left unheard and unacknowledged which builds up to make more barriers to communication and ultimately leads to inefficiency.
6. Managing with fear rather than fairness
Having power over a large group of people can make anyone a little tipsy but that doesn’t give them the right to unnecessarily boss everyone around. A common trait of a toxic manager is to lead with fear rather than fairness, placing fear on their subordinates to establish dominance over them. This does not only lead to unfairness in the workplace but can also hype up a manager without any basis. Now, fear not if you have observed any of these traits in your manager because there are ways to deviate this problem. You can simply go to higher levels of administration or management to convey your concerns, talk to co-workers and approach your manager together or start looking for other jobs. There are numerous opportunities out there and spending your days slaving away for a toxic manager is not worth it.
